On Windows, really effective product, just change a little long chain with the remote control (besides, it's really simplistic but effective enough).
On Linux, a bit more complicated to use this module. You must install the firmware you need.
For Linux, in summary, head what I did:
- Compiled a recent version of the Linux kernel to add support for my module and support LIRC (remote control).
A second method is to compile and install the driver [...]
- Download and install a copy of the firmware in the directory / lib / firmware / (example below):
cd / lib / firmware /
wget [...]
wget [...]
- Reboot (in case) and connect your DVB-T stick.
- Type "dmesg" command to view the system information.
If a phrase like "dvb_usb_v2 'Avermedia A835B (1835)' successfully initialized and connected" appears, everything is good,
your device is recognized.
- Simply install and use the utiliaire w_scan (since your deposits), to generate a frequency / channel configuration file
(See http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tnt).
- Once done you can:
Start your multimedia application to go through the channels (eg VLC).
- The configuration of the remote uses LIRC (hence my kernel compilation, and adding support) and allows, among other,
to control the multimedia player (changing channels, etc.), and with a little configuration, start and control any application on Linux;).
Good luck;)
