Personally, I would have almost passed the zillion division radio stations, but my wife wants to hear but also targeted a specific album. So I made the attempt and copied to test out my music on an external hard drive, this is connected to the Fritz box and assigned to the Sonos library. In principle, this also works, but the USB 1 the Fritz box is simply too slow. Long story short: We have done us the Napster Flatrate and are enthusiastic about the choice of music. But maybe I could buy me a CD of the month and then the songs belong to me, but a heady musical diversity that is not certainly. For your music collection I close my currently iPod touch to the Sonos and play them in order.
Short unlike the Sonos operation with the ipod touch / CR 200. Functionally, both variants take nothing - comfort technically already. The CR 200 is integrated into the Sonos wireless. Ie you can select instantly and effortlessly music. The other variant is to restart the iPod and wait until it has registered imWLAN the Fritz box, start the Sonos software and then select Music. A bit annoying. If you want to skip a song further, that goes with the CR 200 also significantly faster. Is just a question of comfort and price.
Short yet to S5. So I think, the machine has a great sound. Of course one must not expect a big stereo effect in the tight-fitting speakers, but if you're willing to compromise in this regard, the S5 with its 85 watts can be quite a space-saving alternative for living room. For smaller rooms, it is anyway a great part.
Addendum of 24/05/2010:
New function with the Software 3.2
S5 Stereo Pair setting:
This setting allows you to group two S5 in the same space and therefore is ideal for parties or very large spaces. An S5 serves as the left and the other S5 as right speaker.
