Having studied English and partly having read the book in the original version, I find that the French translation is a shame. The original text was massacred by the translator who decided to appropriate the text and write his own book. The text is much more accessible than the French version, and much more enjoyable to read. I hope I never fall on a translation of this gentleman and I feel sorry for those readers who can not read the original version and that will have to be content with this horror (French have a dictionary at hand. )
