Love Japan, I loved this little book in hard cover and lookée to the Japanese. Each food is presented on a double page: on the left picture and left the plug. The cards do not have a predefined format. They may as well talk about how to prepare the food as its history or its place in the diet or Japanese traditions. One might regret the quality of photos that do not always put in appetite but to 12.90 euros this is not a recipe book or culinary art. For me it is one of his little books full of cool little information to leave in his toilet :-)
