1st problem: Menus are explanatory, but for children who do not yet know how to read, they lack simplicity.
For example, to play a video, on most cameras, there is a dedicated button just press it to start playing, but this Nikon S32, you must press a button that brings us a menu and this menu, choose the option "read" ... not terrible though!
2nd problem: The wide angle is not big enough in my opinion. It feels a little cramped. Especially a child tends to take things closely enough and also not to move. You end up with a lot of very very close shots ... Of course, not everything is a matter of learning and mastery of framing ... But before becoming instinctive, learning takes time, for young and old alike ...
3rd problem: The video rendering is not great! Here are the main reasons: an autofocus lagging, regular jerks (although the card is quite suitable) and a noise management of chaotic sensor ... It will not take too much to ask.
But most of these defects are compensated by a shockproof waterproof protection and reassuring!
