When a lot of waiting for a book is often double or quits! But here I really have not been disappointed, it was a favorite from the first pages. First the story is compelling and of course, a historical significance! But ultimately, it's not for me the most important in this book. Before being shocked by what I just said, let me try to explain. For me, this is the beauty of this book is its characters: Skeeter, Aibileen, Mini, Celia Foot ... The author has an undeniable talent for them to talk and we love them all passionately. Each time you move from one view to another, it is both sad to leave the previous narrator and happy to find the following. I can not tell you how much I am attached to her women! I feel I know them, I want to tighten in my arms and tell them how much they are great and courageous! I even cried for her, which almost never happens to me with a book. And if I say that it is really the strength of the book is first of all because this is what I felt, but also because we already know everyone how things went at the time, it's not a discovery. But when one speaks of individuals and not anonymous, that is where history takes real importance for us I think!
My only disappointment regarding any late, I found a bit steep. I wish to know a bit more about the future of all the protagonists, I did not want to leave so soon! In short, my only disappointment was that the book ends!
