The Western Digital Elements is clearly the first place of all mentioned. For menu navigation, I would say nothing is self-explanatory and easy to use.
For me personally, these points are very critical to the functionality of a multimedia disk:
+ She plays all popular formats (even * .mkv)
+ Is a great place to look at the photos, while the music is playing in the background
+ While playing music from a folder, you can continuously for a next track in another folder directory search
+ You can copy the files from the USB flash drive in a reasonable speed to the hard drive, without having to constantly have to connect your computer to it. The same also works in the opposite direction, you can send from your hard drive, the files on the USB flash drive (selection possible, this can be multiple files at once, or a folder containing the files contained therein rüberkopieren).
+ You can partition the hard disk in order to ensure a better overview, folder structure and management, while still maintaining the functionality of the Multimedia Hard Disk on all partitions.
+ A simple yet functional remote condition with all functioning and pressure-resistant knobs
+ If you turn off the hard disk, then no standby light comes the extra power consumed and some interfere
+ Quiet operation
Now I come to the negatives. The descriptions below refer only to the use of multimedia hard drive with the remote control via the menu system.
- Unfortunately, you can not adjust the volume on the remote control, but that can also only the TrekStor plates of the tested models.
- Select multiple folders not going or I have for almost a year not yet figured out how to do it there ^^
- Copy of folder structures, which contain several folders unfortunately not possible or I know not how to do it :)
- Deleting folders is not possible
- A * .iso file could strangely not be gescalt and was shown full narrow on the TV (other ran without any problems, maybe it was just an isolated incident)
- Two times the disk has hung without reason during operation, but for a period of almost a year, it is acceptable
- No switch or button to turn on the hard drive (for example, useful when Festpalttenaufhänger)
On the whole, I find that the overall concept is right and the hard drive is worth buying. I do not regret the purchase and would always do (have been considered to bring me another, but this is not yet fully and I am not a collector ^^, 2TB is really a nice size :).
