Rachel Morgan loves her witchcraft, tomato sauce, black leather and her work as an IS-agent, the equivalent of the Indian International to FIB. But because of their - well - directness she is on the hit list of her boss. Rachel announces or is fired (she and her boss are located as not quite sure) and her friend Ivy joins her equal with at. The problem is that Ivy is a living vampire and the best agent, the IS has ever had. Since the IS is not known for his squeamishness, it puts a bounty on the young witch. Rachel sees her only chance to survive is that it brings the powerful and slick underworld boss Trent Kalamack case basis so as to establish their reputation back.
DEAD WITCH WALKING is the prelude to the success cycle by Kim Harrison. Located between Alternate History and Dark Fantasy, promises the cycle eerily beautiful entertainment with lots of action, interesting ideas and lively humor. In addition, it can be increased from band to band.
Rachel is a protagonist, behind which the other characters disappear before. It is tough, but not tough or bitter and want to enjoy their lives. Since it is quite a hothead, she does is damn hard to compromise. However, they are in their relationship with Ivy constantly required since the living vampire "different polarity" is and must constantly struggle against their bloodlust. The most interesting and most loveable character is Jenks, the pixie with the big mouth and a horde of children - so cute!
To be fair, I must mention that the detective story is rather moderate. As Rachel and Ivy spy on the underworld boss etc. is still very interesting and exciting, but the final disappointing (Trent commits a stupid mistake, which does not correspond to his character). What the heck, DWW is still highly recommended. So definitely try!
The cycle include: DEAD WITCH WALKING (blood trail of Heyne); THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UNDEAD; Every which way BUT DEAD; A FIST FULL OF CHARMS; FOR A FEW DEMONS MORE
