The authors have succeeded, for the 6th time to make this book an essential reference for anyone wishing to discover, explore and refine his understanding of orchestral music. We learn everything you need to know to write for an orchestra, it provides all the information you need to master the records of all the instruments of a symphony orchestra, the different techniques of voice-leading, etc. This is definitely, and for many musicians, arrangers and composers, a reference book. However, despite the wide scope of knowledge contained in this book, it is very well written, educational, and I consider it as the best book to start in the orchestral arrangement.
