I have long wondered whether I should really order this feed from Dehner after I had experienced last winter with the "Dehner Winter dream" and the Dehner fat balls with berries as a letdown. But since my delight Dehner peanuts again, I have finally dared to attempt. I'm really thrilled! Almost too excited :-(, because due to the truly incredible popularity is really consumes immense quantities. I'll feed per day approximately 15 tablespoons here in the center of the city and fill the bird feeder 2-3 times a day really lush. Would there anymore, the kids would probably destroy even more ...
So far I had more unusual diets on offer (eg in admixture with Agaporniden- / Parakeets mixtures, but the balcony dirty due to the shell residues too much) and thus received a lot of visitors from (mainly) green finches that now at the Dehner Natura fat and soft food unfortunately somewhat restrain, though I still have mixed some of the "old" feed. Instead 8-10 greenfinch per "bird meal" observed now every now and then a single one of them. But now come but probably three or four times as many birds as before. Mainly sparrows, as well as blue and great tits. Today the Sparrow rush had on my balcony directly to bird feeders filled almost like out of a horror movie "Attack of the Killer sparrows". Something I've never seen! What a wild flutter and Gestänker in a "sparrow cloud" of 1.5 m in diameter! What "fights" to the food! Simply sweet and fascinating. Instead, as usual, about 12 have to have been about three times as many!
Drawback with the food is that in the mixture very sumptuous and rich (and expensive aussortierbaren) feed raisins of sparrows and titmice are rarely touched, which is why many of them sorted out in the evening often lie when daytime no blackbird has its mercy. In the only accessible for small birds house I fill therefore expediently only almost raisin-free screened feed.
Blackbird visits are unfortunately also declined significantly, which were obviously more on exotic lining ...
Nevertheless, overall a strong buy recommendation. I have never seen that birds so downright "energized" stood and birdhouses have never been so quickly empty. One just needs to mix in only another feed when other guests want as sparrows and tits ...
PS: As noted by Mitrezensenten containing feed contrary to the description no sunflower seeds.
Addendum: My initial 5-star enthusiasm has now significantly attenuated, therefore the reduction down to 2 stars. The food continues to be readily eaten, but the number of birds has again significantly reduced (estimated at less than one-third. Reason for this may be that all day hermachen wasps over the raisins and "live" quasi already in the 4 bird feeders. I'm going this afternoon to sort out all the raisins out of the chuck. But since this is a very time-consuming task is, I'll (unfortunately) not quite sure order it again. Toll would be if there was the feed mix easily without raisins, then they would receive still 5 stars, but so ...
Another Addendum: Now that I've sorted out the food raisin what has probably cost me an hour for the sack, teeming again only as of sparrows. So probably really was the wasps ...
And one final addendum: The wasps time is over (November) and I had therefore yet again to buy a stretcher-sac. Oodles of sparrows and chickadees make some continue to greedily on the stretcher-feed her, to which I currently only adding shelled sunflower seeds and more peanuts. (Only the raisins are not really popular.) Greenfinch unfortunately I have not seen since determined one month but the food enjoying the highest popularity in the other two species mentioned. I would therefore fodder for the period from November to July recommend - (?) - That is, outside of the "wasps high season". Now that it's getting colder, eat the small and often times a raisin, which the balcony is no longer quite so bad (raisins covered) looks the most raisins are however still rejected by sparrows and Co., but not all. I very much hope that during the winter finally blackbirds come to me in order to eliminate the daily "dropped" raisins. As for the star rating, I can now hardly decide three or four ... Slightly less 3 because of (even without wasps) existing raisins problem.
