The Catcher in the Rye (Paperback)

Customer Review

The book being surrounded by all a myth, I wanted to know more. Having seen the reviews that said that the French translation was poor, I decided to get into reading the original work. And I must admit that I'm not disappointed at all. The expression is so natural, the unique style that can only love. If some passages are a little blurry because of my advanced level of English, the author manages to make us perceive the feelings of the main character of sometimes brutal manner. It is sometimes laughing, sometimes completely oppressed with him, sometimes we spleen.
I am very glad I buy this book in the original version because I do not think that such a style is possible in French even with the best translators. it will surely not seem so pure, would that at the very root of emotion. At first it is frightening, the characters are very small, closely spaced but after ten lines it is impossible to put this book.
Truly a gem!
