The Driving Force GT well be the entry-level models from Logitech, it nevertheless remains a quality product, strong and well finished.
Nothing to do with low-end models (and fragile!) Offered by competitors with more aggressive pricing, but that ultimately prove disappointing in use.
Compared to the higher model (G27), the Driving Force GT loses the clutch pedal. There is no gear lever in H but a simple sequential lever attached to the right of the steering wheel (in addition to conventional pallets). Also forget the leather covering and metal pedals. But keep in mind that the G27 is not located in the same price range (expect to double the price of the Driving Force GT to acquire a G27!)
Good point against: the integration of almost all buttons on the DualShock 3 on the steering wheel makes navigating through menus compatible PS3 games.

Impressions unpacking and installation:
The Driving Force GT still leaves a good impression when unpacking. The set is large (with a wheel of 28 cm in diameter!), And also relatively heavy.
And even if there is a plastic and rubber coating, materials seem good enough and will not be afraid to break all in less than 15 days!
At "installation", allow a support for the wheel, to tinker or to purchase separately. No question of playing with the steering wheel on the knees!
The steering wheel is fixed with two "jaws" to grip and, after careful and serious tightening, all did not answer. Neither on a wooden stand or on a desk in "glass".
3 cables are to be connected, one between the steering wheel and pedals, the other for power, and the third to connect the wheel to the console (or PC) via a USB port.
Note that the pedals tend to slip slightly on soil type lyno or parquet. By cons, if you have carpet or a rug, there is a spike system that can be deployed to ensure a firm footing.

Playstation and PC Compatibility:
Tested with success on Playstation 2, Playstation 3 and Windows 8.1, knowing that the compatibility of the steering wheel on PC is mainly provided by the game publisher and not by Logitech itself (which does not communicate it, beyond macaron "PC compatible" ....).
Obviously Gran Turismo 4 (PS2) and Gran Turismo 5 (PS3), the steering wheel is immediately recognized and the game takes full advantage of all features of the steering wheel (force feedback, 900 ° rotation, etc).
For other racing games on PS3 edited, the steering wheel is generally compatible, but the game does not necessarily operate all driving functions (no rotation at 900 ° of 'Burnout Paradise' for example).
For Windows use, remember that paper documentation (type IKEA) did not grant a single word, not even a drawing (too much!), And it will search on the Logitech site to find happiness.
Directly connect the wheel to the PC is in my opinion a very bad idea because it does not say that the wheel will be recognized by the game or that orders will be correctly configured by default!
In short, after installing a "Logitech Profiler" software that will be downloaded on the official website, you can go to the configuration of the machine. It already starts with the pedals set on the same axis (activating the combined pedals), then one can possibly start a game in the hope that the steering wheel is recognized.
After some trial and error, I finally managed to get the wheel on the old "Need For Speed: Most Wanted" (2005 version or 2006). Proof that this is possible. Although it is a little headache and very broken foot.
Basically, Logitech could have easily simplify things by providing a download link or CD. Or even better, by integrating the driver in his inescapable more "Wizards for video games" that unifies the setting of the main accessories in its range "Gaming" mouse, keyboard, headphones.
It would have been more useful in any case a simple modernization of the carton because basically it is always the same Driving Force GT steering wheel since 2009 or 2010. Only the carton has been revamped.

Impressions in the game:
I just tried the wheel on some arcade games like "Burnout Paradise" and "Need for Speed" and I confess frankly prefer a joystick to this game.
Access to features like "turbo" is not at all easy on Burnout Paradise, and anyway, vehicle control is not really optimal driving!
By cons, on a directed simulation game like "Gran Turismo", then there is no picture: the sensations are very good with the wheel and I can not imagine not returning to a joystick.
Both regarding the direction the speed, the Driving Force GT allows a finer, more intuitive control of the vehicle.
The vibrations are very well made when you touch the curbs or when you leave the track. Force feedback is fairly well balanced.
Both pedals having good resistance (different from one pedal to another), it is possible to measure the acceleration or braking depending on the pressure exerted.
In general, I am not necessarily addicted to racing games. I'm more of a casual user ... but here, with this steering wheel, the sensations are so good that frankly I hooked and I can not pick up (or so) of Gran Turismo.
In this regard, note that after several hours of play, I did not feel sweating hands with rubber coating.
