I was looking for a solid Windows laptop, not too heavy, with good keyboard, processing, computing power and not to loud fan.
Usage: Transcripts in the University, MS Office work and the occasional recreational use.
My previous laptop was a MacBook Air, but which I can not work properly with all the benefits (weak operating system and Office for Mac do not like it).
Performance
In direct comparison with an air of course is immediately apparent that the Lenovo slow starts and also when opening programs takes longer. But he also costs 300 less than the entry-level model from Apple and provides a more sophisticated operating system.
For everyday use I come with the Lenovo deal very good, minor delays here and there spoil the overall impression not noticeably.
The laptop is quiet, but not completely silent. From Start to accompany a very slight hum, but does not interfere in the university even when working in a library; absolutely passable for me.
Accumulator
For me, fortunately not a conclusive criterion, because the battery here is not really strong. Terrible he is not, but I think more than 5 hours to get beyond the difficulties and standby times of Windows laptops are not outstanding.
Processing
The keyboard is absolutely amazing, when writing this review, I get more and more the impression that working with one of the best laptop keyboard at all. Since coming to me also the highly acclaimed keyboard from the MacBook absolutely not it.
Even otherwise, the laptop is well made, it creaks nothing and brushed optic Look impressive. The state mode for pure touch-usage works perfectly, although I almost never use. With 1.9 Kg of laptop is very portable, he also looks pretty flat. The touchpad is working relatively well and no creaks are the Windows gestures reliably again.
Display
It will not win any awards, but for me is an absolutely acceptable display. Unfortunately you have to loose 80% brightness the screen does not go with it is too dark, but because the only one battery problem result has I do not want to complain twice this vulnerability.
Windows 8.1
Here the Touch helps support natural, but my recommendation is clearly the following:
1. Set in the taskbar properties Navigation that the laptop after booting directly displays the desktop.
2. Install the StartIsBack program costs after 3 months only 3 Dollars (which are easily paid with PayPal) and brings one back for a fully operational start button. Who needs Windows 10 ;-)
Office 2013 is liquid, in combination with the good keyboard and the solid touchpad you can here by presentations on spreadsheets to Word works do everything very reliable.
Value for money / Conclusion
By following the aforementioned steps, you can get here for some 600 around a very solid Windows laptop with good performance, great keyboard and acceptable weight.
Strong processing and the absence of blunders give the impression perfect, unless you do not have highly professional claims you get here a true all-rounder for more than fair price.
Only to the gaming qualities I can not say anything.
Who can ignore the average battery gets from me a very strong buy recommendation.
