It is with this compilation similar to the same DVD NUMBER ONES: Not all the musical highlights of Michael Jackson may be trapped under the title number one hits. The 25-year career of the King of Pop as a solo artist is poorly covered. While in my opinion are represented by the most important songs of the two albums success OFF THE WALL and THRILLER, the 91er work DANGEROUS clearly misses out away. Just one title (BLACK OR WHITE) made it on this compilation, fan favorites such as Heal the World or WHO IS IT? unfortunately missing. Surprising, however, which is why it has the number one hit man in the mirror is not managed by the board BAD on Best of. Probably lack of space is the reason because the disc has a running time of almost 80 minutes and is therefore quite crammed. Therefore, some songs are forced shortened. Negative falls on this right the opener Do not Stop 'Til You Get Enough, because the well-known speech intro was removed. Also THRILLER can only be felt in a slimmed-down version. Much of the input Instrumental, including door squeaking, the scissors fell victim. This is a shame, we really expected from a greatest hits album of an exceptional artist like MJ a complete presentation, not shortened. A double-CD set would have been desirable for the large amount of Hitmaterial. But Praiseworthy is the audio quality. The songs were well remastered. The volume was doing but not squashed until nowadays often striking Loudness Wars syndrome (if interested simply Googling times). Audio Technically NUMBER ONES is so tied together.
Conclusion: From recent various King of Pop, there are really a number of compilations of his success and there is none that can provide every fan completely satisfied. NUMBER ONES is one of them and provides in principle only a superficial overview of the long career of MJ. For beginners, the CD is but certainly nothing wrong.
