Applications:
All applications that I use at work / at home are available, including many exist mode
Offline (without connection) such as Gmail, Google Docs all the apps / Slides / Sheets (Pack Office) ...
Use:
Undoubtedly, the main benefit of the Chromebook is lightweight (despite overall rendering rather qualified, it does not beat the aluminum frame of the MacBook but for 2000 it is less than perfect) and fluidity (start-2s watch in hand, never any lag while I never closes a window, even with Word / Excel documents open).
Otherwise I had no problem to play audio or video files and given the autonomy that is great news for future trips by train / plane :)
Most
* Screen: nickel, even in bright sunlight (eg terrace)
* Keyboard and touchpad tops (well a computer other than Apple with a large touchpad and manages gestures with several fingers!)
* Battery life (> 10 hours)
* 100Gb offered on Google Drive
* The suite Google Docs: opens smoothly all Office documents that I've tested - which is connected to a wireless or not - (excel file more MB with pivot tables, word documents with what I know make more complicated in terms of length, references, tables, etc). I imagine there must be limits but I have not found them. Note 2 small stuff I found in use
1) online mode can also be used after Office Online (free) so I guess there's really no pb the compatibility
2) we can save a copy of a Google Docs version of Office document to enable the functionality (creating new pivot tables such that you can not make "Office compatibility" mode) and can then download as Office file
The least
* Keyboard: I find it lacks qq handy keys, although we easily find all the shortcuts in the Help section (well done elsewhere)
- Start: Ctrl + Alt + up
- End: Ctrl + Alt + down key
- Caps Lock: Alt + Search
* Screen: black bands around the screen are a bit wide I find (in version 11 inches). If they had been less than 5 cm wide all would have been still better
In summary this is better than a tablet (keyboard, no problem to open all websites, equal or greater autonomy) and I find better than hybrid computers the moment (autonomy, much more fluid for use) and less expensive than laptops has found 299 right now while being more efficient (autonomy, almost instantaneous startup, simple operating system and ultra easy to access ...)
An excellent choice for those looking for a portable mat for daily use (email, web, Facebook, ...), office automation and simple multimedia (photo management to Picassa or equivalent, music / movie playback)
I remember reading a comment on the Chromebook before he opted for the one saying "the computer would start with" and I confess that I totally agree :) A big thank you to Google ( for applications and logic ChromeOS), Asus (for the quality of material, the C200 Chromebook is by far the best "finished" I had the opportunity to see or test to date), and Intel (for the CPU - according to the articles I've read - allows all to be as fluid)
