Being totally new to Haskell and new to Functional Programming I tried this as my first book on the topic - and failed. There is a lot to be said about Haskell and this book tells a lot about it. In my position as at absolute beginner, it what to much to handle. I was fascinated but could not really keep track what what what what important and not. So I bought Programming in Haskell by Graham Hutton. This book which far less complete and THUS allowed for a far easier start. With the basic understanding for language and concepts from A Beginners Book One can Easily go to Real World Haskell Which is what the title says: A book on how to use the fabulous concepts of Haskell in the Real World. Maybe people with a better background than me Could as well start with RWH. You can preview all of the book online and you will probably find thatthere is nothing on the market Comparable.
