# The benefits of 3DS XL:
- The screens are much bigger, putting less strain on the eyes, and it seems that colorimetry is better, and the slab is less reflective exterior lights. With a large screen, 3D is also gaining in depth (and interest!).
- The quality of some components has been improved. The "home" functions "start" and "select" are associated with real keys. Sliders of the 3D volume and have a longer stroke and allow better control, finer, more accurate. The LEDs are better positioned for improved readability.
- The hull is made of a matte material, more sober, less slippery but especially - resulting in better grip. Some pins on the underside (added to ensure better stability on a support) or the presence of two screens at the central hinge show that the design has been rethought in every detail.
- The console comes with an SD card 4GB.
# The disadvantages of the 3DS XL:
- The console is sold without charger, without charging stand and also without strap. Crisis period requires (sic), it remains in the console box and paper notices. And while this is clearly stated on the box, one may question the relevance of delivering a charging cradle device, especially when the power port is specific. We are not dealing here with a USB or mini-USB and I think many people have to buy an accessory in addition to operate "normally" their consoles.
- The screen of the 3DS XL is larger, the image is a bit more pixelated than the 3DS classic. Nothing catastrophic, because after a few hours, I admit that I find it difficult to return to the first 3DS. ;-)
- I find it a shame that helmet use was deported on the left. I preferred the middle, as on the first 3DS.
Logical consequence of the difference of gauge, some 3DS accessories are not compatible with the XL model. This is the loading base (available at the time with the original 3DS) and the circular pro pad for dedicated games. There are specific variants for the 3DS XL, but they are sold separately.
Too bad for those who already had a 3DS and invited board again at checkout (ouch !!! ...)
Another observation (which is not really a surprise): autonomy has not changed much the 3DS to 3DS XL. I still expect 3-5 hours duration which varies depending on usage and settings (activation of WiFi, the standby, etc.).

For the rest, the 3DS XL is only a model "greatest" of the 3DS. And positive or negative reviews that I have made on the first model remain valid.
# Ergonomics:
- The presence of a single stick is significant but we would have liked a second is added automatically and not offered separately for sale.
- The device is easy to handle, like the Wii or WiiU. No difficulty to set the console, including the Internet connection.
# Graphics:
Are almost to the level of PSP games, which is certainly cute, but pretty far from what we can see on PS Vita or smartphones.
# 3D:
As for me, I find that 3D brings a lot on some software that play on the notion of relief as Mario Land 3D.
Clearly optional, is for everyone to get an idea about that. Another remark, quite logical: it is better not to enable 3D in transport ...
# The catalog:
Over the years, we must say that the console has been proposed for many specific games ... in addition to the old Nintendo DS games (that are compatible).
For my part, I enjoyed "Mario 3D Land", "Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D" (both very good platform games), "Ocarina of Time", "Resident Evil Revelations" (game of horror / share) 2 games Professor Layton "(puzzles), Mario Kart 8, etc .. In short, there is plenty to do!
# The camera:
The resolution is ridiculously low. Use only for 3D.

To conclude, I would say I was won over by the colors of this model "Zelda" collector. It is really classy and perfectly find its place alongside my wiimote "Skyward" golden or my Zelda WiiU console. And unlike the latter, I appreciate that originality does not come only with a simple sticker but the console actually has an original gold colors, worthy of the true tradition "Zelda". ;-)
Note that the data transfer from my old to the new 3DS 3DS XL is very well.
Regarding the game, it is supplied as a download code. Activate only since 22/11/13 (the code worked fine).
No game cartridge so it is always a little sad for the collector side ...
The game is available from today, I decided to focus my comments on the console (main interest of this pack) and does not give an opinion precipitate on a game I like to take time to savor. ;-)
