Worshiper of Jane Austen I dive there one year with lots of fun in this impressive book. It was a true moment of happiness I have just reiterated in rereading. Elizabeth Gaskell painted with great realism the society of his time and this opposition between the people of the south, rural, and northern, traders, industrialists. It follows with great interest the life and the discovery of those in the north by the heroine, Margaret Hale, and particularly his meeting with John Thornton, owner of a cloth factory. This character, very successful, very endearing, and makes really beautiful love story. To be completed by the viewing of the film by the BBC with Richard Armitage in the role of John Thornton.
