Here in the village, it is impossible to get a DSL connection via the normal TAN can. The DSL signal we get on the radio technology. That means we need to call either a router with integrated VoIP connection or a normal router and an additional VoIP phone.
(Bought Air Port Extreme at Amazon) because we wanted to buy a router from Apple, we decided on this Gigaset.
And it was the right decision.
Packing:
The Gigaste was packed in the typical original packaging. Everything safely packed!
Installation:
In this set all cables you need to connect supplied. An Ethernet cable, 2 times power supply, TAN telephone cable. A cradle for the handset with 2Akkus.
So that nothing goes wrong in the setup and connection is included an instruction manual.
For someone in the IT area somewhat likely knows it even without manual be able to clamp the base to the router.
Setting:
There is the possibility of the phone with both dialing to use: analog and digital (VoIP)
On the back of the base is a port for TAN telephone cable and on the right side of the base there is the connector for the Ethernet cable.
In connection to the Internet is lit in the center of the base, a blue button of the "traffic" displays. When not using the phone's backlight stays on permanently. You make a call then the lighting flashes at regular intervals.
The phone offers the option of multiple IP's to lay. Eg if you have multiple phone numbers with different providers.
The device is made of an assistant who helps the supplied data sent to the right places to give in.
For me, the set lasted about 5 minutes. I immediately could then call. (Operate only telephone via VoIP)
Why I like the phone:
It's nice and compact. Has a good and loud speaker. The keys are comfortable to operate and the voice quality is very good.
You can access e-mail, My eBay, etc.
The weather is displayed for their own place (you have to manually enter the site)
Phonebook on the phone or at Gigaste.net
What I also find very good, although I still did not have an entry in the phone book, my father's name will be displayed when He calls me. The same I have asked also determine when a call to the in-laws. I'm assuming that the numbers that are in the phone book and call with be replaced by the name as long as you are registered in the phone book (guess)
Conclusion:
The phone has everything you need and much more. The answering machine is reliable. When battery power, I can not say anything yet because we have the phone for 2 days. But think the fact that the display turns off when not in use to the battery holds out a long time without charging station.
It is suitable for anyone who wants to save some money and quality and would like to manage multiple numbers.
Good value I find very good.
