The adapter worked after some trial and error (as IDE to SATA adapter to both an old HDD as well as to older CD and DVD drives tested and now a "Plextor Premium 2 Writer" in operation).
It should be noted (as already in previous reviews described) the switch and jumper settings on the adapter, which is set out Mainboard view. Furthermore, the drive must be configured as MASTER.
Something difficult and for a star deduction, is the attachment of the 40-pin IDE connector on the drive. You have to make absolutely sure that the adapter board is positioned horizontally and the plug is firmly attached to the drive, otherwise the drive in the BIOS and thus also in the Windows does not recognize.
