But other devices should be connected so that a 16 subscriber system was needed.
Unfortunately, on the homepage of Technisat not (easy) to find out if additional electricity demand caused by the cascade expansion. This is (unfortunately) the case. By TechniSwitch 5/8 K - ie the extension to 16 participants, the consumption increased to 155 mA. This info I have, however, only afterwards ergoogelt and 5/8 K once ordered "blue-eyed".
The cascade extension came as usual quickly. The connection is possible without any problems simply and without guidance. I recommend it but using F quick connectors (no screws). With simple dual plugs or short cables makes little fun ...
6 of the 8 devices previously connected then performed flawlessly and with just as good picture as before.
But an older SAT receiver could no longer switch the LNB (it was almost exclusively Tele5) and a relatively new Philips Flat TV no longer worked (or only if a was simultaneously turned on another device).
Without additional power supply operation in the house was in my case, not with all equipment possible!
The 5/8 K I have therefore sent back.
Alternatively, I have done me a JULTEC JRM 0516T. This 16-fold multi-switch also manufactured in Germany needs in the current version only 40mA !!! and is also made considerably valent and the charge for the acquisition of Technisat 5/8 G2 + 5/8 K definitely worth! The JULTEC can even extend to 32/48 participants!
Now all connected devices function again without problems.
Basically the 5/8 K is certainly a good device. But if you want him to operate without power supply, then you either need to know if the existing devices work or just get lucky.
Since the main reason for the acquisition of these two multi-switch was operating without power supply and this, unfortunately, did not work satisfactorily, I have two stars deducted.
