Tip: Even a 500GB hard drive with USB 2.0 Intenso works flawlessly on my car radio. (Electricity demand: 499mA - and should not exceed 500mA)
Negative experiences of other reviewers I can understand in any way.
We use these sticks mainly for car radios, as well as times for data exchange.
If the drive for the device to be used according formatted "correctly" described and "safely removed" was, we had never been able to detect a problem.
One should bear in mind that this has no stick status LED - even if you copy the finished data, a moment will be accessible to the stick long. I therefore wait some time before I safely remove it.
To increase the disk performance something must be "optimized for performance" of the media. By default, the USB-attached disk "safe removal" optimized, ie, the disk cache is disabled!
On the procedure for activating the cache's but I will not go into further. PC users should know how to do it.
Even if a disk has been optimized for quick removal, I still recommend to use "safe removal" function.
Every drive I checked after purchase / receipt on target and actual capacity and whether the data will remain intact.
In general, the actual usable memory is a few MB below the stated value - but that is normal.
A few more details:
- The storage medium reading is faster than writing, should any be aware.
- When writing the data can be "burned" in the memory chip, and that takes nunmal.
- When reading, the "branded" data are only sampled and output - it is quicker.
- This flash memory has a limited life. With Delete all and describe reduces the life of the individual memory cells.
- Per memory cell up to 100,000 write / erase cycles are given by manufacturers generally.
- The service life also depends on the operation: Taking a memory stick from, although still it is accessed, it can be destroyed on the spot. At best, only the data will be affected.
