A smartphone for beginners. Or dropouts? A possible target group.
The Fire E has a chance. An opportunity towards those who do not particularly like Apple and do not want to join in the madness of control Google Android. The operating system is based on HTML5 and is therefore basically always up to date. The so-called Apps are predominantly bookmarks that are directly aimed at mobile Internet pages. A constant app update eliminates so and the Smartphone is becoming less cluttered. The display is not only cleaned up, it is there. With a longer touch on the screen, a mini-menu, where you have access to very nice pre-sorted folders, TV, Entertainment, News opens just to name a few. Each folder already contains a lot of very very many bookmarks that act as apps.
And that is quite enough, considering what an app is basically eigendlich. Many Android Apps are in my opinion totally unnecessary and just take away memory. Here the Firefox OS is far ahead.
When storing your bookmarks application asks whether it should be linked to the same home, without the hassle of navigating through a menu. Also a great thing. Since, as already mentioned, is based on HTML, but widgets are, or are not yet available. So no weather reports, or other times, I'd say frills to directly to the welcome page, and certainly not animated. All weather reports or similar go directly to the corresponding website. A flat rate Internet is mandatory in this smartphone.
But the users of the Alcatel with Firefox OS will be happy, there is an entry-level smartphone, or rather for freaks?
Everything is Open Source. Anyone can suggest improvements directly, possibly even participate. The Firefox Store is always full, and the free. It starts up fast, and the battery is well charged afloat. Oh yes, the battery ...
The course is pretty weak. Since this is a new smartphone and every manufacturer and users know how current they are eating, especially with WiFi, games, surfing and much more. is a battery of 1700 mAh but skimpy. Here Alcatel would have the chance to build in a high-performance battery, especially because it is not replaceable, but firmly installed. That's the real disappointment, I think. If the battery is much fatter, Alcatel would here the nose clear front.
I think that this is no entry in the smartphone world, but rather for those who want to get out of Android and Apple is just too expensive.
Firefox OS - A system, which is never finished.
It will probably never be a final update, which will be "the best". And that's good. Since the HTML is always changing, and Firefox will change, perhaps even so that you will not be forced to always zuzulegen the newest Smartphone. Therefore, a powerful battery would be so important.
Otherwise, this smartphone is just like any other type of usability ago, SMS, phone calls (yes), create contacts, the calendar, etc. which enter. and much more. And no, there is no Whats App. And no FB Messenger. I have not tried music, the supplied headphones but you should replace with security.
Positive
+ Chic casing made of solid plastic is stable and looks classy
IPS + display, which although at diagonal angle decreases slightly, but who holds a cell phone like this?
+ Display clear and bright, individually adjustable
+ Connection dynamically-automatically from 2G to H +, depending on reception
Liquid + Internet quickly and depending on side
+ Smartphone is not overloaded Apps, installed no "forced-Apps", everything is erasable
+ A big plus ever, because it is not Apple or Android (with a wink ...)
Negatives
- First: the battery. Secondly: the battery and the Third: the battery. Please improve, please kindly ...
- Starts after a while already starting to stutter, but that is minimal and only for those who become annoyed
- Not necessarily an entry-level smartphone, possibly rather an alternative for fans and newcomers, should maybe 50 Euro more cost ...
- The opportunity that presents itself, not consistently perceived by the Firefox OS. Redefine target audience?
Whether. As an introduction, alternative, switch ... definitely for those who want no Apple or Android
But that Alcatel has a few shovels drauflegen on technical content, then it should also like to be a bit more expensive.
Firefox OS deserves a chance.
