For me, the decisive factor for the purchase of the X8 was the compact size and the display of this size relatively high resolution. The X10mini was too small, the normal X10 too big - and too expensive (in the 200 class came to me only the Galaxy 3 from Samsung or HTC Wildfire in question). Thus, there is (of course with Screen Protector) easily place in my back pocket.
If you hold the device in his hands, you notice immediately that you hold no high end in his hands. These plastic surface does not really make a quality impression. But given the price can live without that. Some crashes survived my smartphone without prejudice. Thus, the housing serves its purpose.
Now for the inner values that are important so as always in life;):
The operation is quite intuitive in my opinion. Even as Androdid newbie I have found all the important functions immediately and could use them. And if I once missed something gabs also an app for :) (the gibts ja now for every situation in more or less good version - but first directly nothing to do with the X8, Android halt). The performance could have been better in my opinion though. Sometimes reacts X8 quite sluggish on inputs. By the time but you get used to it.
The greatest weakness of the X8 is the battery. My Device screams at the latest after one day after the outlet. I use the phone only as a mobile phone - so only phone and SMS - but it also holds by 3 days by. But then I would have bought me a cell phone. GPS and Wi-Fi are just big energy guzzlers. With the wireless way, I have from time to connection problems since the update to Android 2.1 ...
But as an Android phone lives of its apps, I give here once just a small list of apps, which (for me) are indispensable or have proved to be very useful:
ADW.Launcher (replace the not so optimal Sony interface)
Smart Keyboard Pro (better keyboard with good T9 implementation; worth every penny)
DB Navigator (excellent app to get from A to B to drive by bus and train)
Handcent SMS (charming alternative to the standard SMS app)
(Manage multiple e-mail accounts) K-9 Mail
MyPhoneExplorer (If you want to manage your contacts and other data also offline)
Opera Mini (faster browser)
(Hold calls, SMS and traffic control; for not just flat owners very helpful) Stats
What power? (Determined network operator contacts; for minute buckets in certain networks very helpful)

Certainly, there are also (good) alternatives to my apps - Apparently there are only a small overview. Without these apps my X8 but would probably feel not so good. I'm still looking for a suitable for me "app killer". Since I have unfortunately no anything yet. But I test more ...
Bwz For entry into the smartphone. Androidwelt I think the SE X8 for very good. After updating to 2.1 can (almost) be installed each app. Who allerings much mobile surfing on the Internet to possibly should look for a device with a larger display. The camera is also suitable for snapshots only. I was pleasantly surprised by the navigation: Per Google Maps led me the phone securely to my goals. But be careful! You should definitely have a data plan or buy an onboard navigation (and a charger at the touch would not be bad). With a smartphone without a data flat makes little sense in my opinion ...
Overall 4 stars from me. For better battery the X8 deserved at the price even more.
