For cons, the ignition system is completely idiotic. The drive turns on automatically when you turn the computer (Windows 7) and fortunately disappears when you stop the PC. You can turn it off, after disconnection, by long pressing the back button and start it by pressing the same button but it is particularly painful when you want an external drive for backups only (and in this case, an external drive must not be continuously connected for added security).
Another disadvantage, when the disk is idle, it is not especially quick to wake up.
