My previous flat TV had an analog RCA output for sound, I had connected with my (just last fall) Denon receiver. The 1.2m high MB-standing speakers either side of the TV delivered at music shows the right sound for picture. So far so good. Then a new TV was due (Samsung). But does not have RCA output, but only via a special interface eg for analogue audio output. When you connect an adapter to the receiver picture and sound on the boxes were then suddenly out of sync. It lies on the TV does not adjust because it works only when the digital audio output. Strangely enough, the sound from the headphone output, however, was very well synchronized, but then the TV speakers were silent and a headphone Pictogramm disturbed the image. And eternal Umstöpseln was also stupid. So was needed, a new receiver with digital input. But if you do not want a surround system, because a stereo or 2.1 is sufficient to start the search for a suitable device. On the market there are almost no stereo receiver with HDMI input (one probably from Kenwood, but I did not like). Then I came across this relatively small device with an optical digital input. I then purchased and after the typical fast Amazon delivery the small box by mitbestelltem Amazon fiber optic cable (very inexpensive!) Connected to the TV. The relief was great when the sound from the speakers synchronously came over again. Only a tiny readjustment on TV and everything was perfect. And because I've taken the same receiver with DAB, I can now hear undisturbed digital radio on the small dipole antenna, with stations that remain left unattended on VHF. Even the FM reception is not (here in Berlin) surprisingly well on this small piece of wire. Admittedly, the receiver has only two RCA inputs, which are occupied by my CD player and to the cable for the MP3. More I do not need too. The sound from the DVD player goes over HDMI to the TV and, if desired, from then on glass to the Denon. And the sound? I was flabbergasted, what brings this little box to power. The large floor-standing speakers are fired that I jump out the bass membranes. Since I have, especially in DVD concert recordings, have to turn something down. When DAB reception is somewhat dull again. As I turn the tone control to neutral. That fits. The box is not, moreover real switch. He just goes on standby. On my electricity meter but I have still found no negative change. Prolonged disuse I pull the plug anyway. I am totally satisfied with this device.
