First, following a short intro with the words of New Yorkers, stylistically really nice and relaxed made. Then follows a brief synopsis of this episode. So there is a short film with Alan Cumming & Brett Gelman, who is from the end of the world and an alleged Spinner in New York, which is quite funny (about 4 minutes). Then there is a conversation, a kind of documentation, with and through the Performance artist Marina Abramovic. That's quite interesting, even if the lady already partly made very grotesque things off the ground has (about 8 minutes). This is followed by quite a long documentation of Jonathan Demme on the pollution of drinking water in the context of research on frogs, where the researcher is accompanied (15 minutes). Carries Finally Andrew Garfield (!) A poem. Be interrupted these passages of cartoons by Emily Flake.
Criticism: the mission is really exciting and interesting - if you have a passion for art, New York and the people there. But actually, the themes are also universal, so you do not necessarily have to come from the Big Apple to "The New Yorker presents" to like. Most likely to be compared with the format of cultural programs ARTE. Easy, relaxed, informative - and well made.
Conclusion: a very interesting, unusual format. From such relaxed, exciting and nevertheless completely unexcited reports there are in today's society too few. In times of "Galilo" the disgusting disgusting "IMAGE" and Co., is "The New Yorker presents" a nice exception. It would be extremely interesting to see whether the program is extended beyond the pilot out for a whole season. It would be interesting in each case. And here lies the great opportunity that changed television, and one as a spectator certainly has a say in the chance. Like more of it.
