Reaction time 2.
First: "! Owl Angra is back!"
Indeed, we really found the style of the early days. This melodic Heavy-Speed conventional influences, progressive touches and accompanied by some Brazilian sounds is back. The angel of the cover reminds us of that of Angels Cry. "Rebirth" seems to bear his name. The intro followed by "Nova Era" and "Acid Rain" we are pleased to find that the group so loved. In addition, the new vocalist Edu Falaschi, has a beautiful voice and fulfills its task perfectly.
Secondly, once the surprise was over, we return to earth and you realize that something is missing in this album. It lacks that hint of audacity and inventiveness that is the mark of great. We feel that the group wanted to reassure his fans, we feel the same too. "Unholy Wars" is modeled on the same lines as "Carolina IV" (album "Holy Land"), "Running Alone" is very reminiscent of "Evil Warning" (album "Angels Cry") ... Other passages sound very familiar one is constantly on familiar ground, marked, and the impression that the group did not seek to take risks by composing a sort of "Angels Cry in Holy Land: the return" is persistent.
This is not serious. The album still managed (nice, well done, effective) and the message was: Angra is alive and well! It's a good start. But it will do better to confirm this return to business. In 2004, the top "Temple of Shadows" will handle this mission ... and come out with flying colors!
