I have this system then bought to improve the rather moderate lean sound of my flat screen TV's. Primary was the use in my game consoles PS3 and Xbox 360, and now on the PS4. I was looking for a compact system that has an optical digital output. Using various tips from the community I ended up in the me previously unknown manufacturer Edifier. Now after all this time I understand well why this manufacturer and explicitly, this system has been praised for consoles so. Processing, material selection, look and feel great. For example, the subwoofer is in real wood casing. Sound clear and rich, just as you would expect when playing video games. I especially stands out when playing with the Edifier powerful sound as racing games, shooting games and GTA for example. No comparison to the 08/15 sound of TV. Even my new and modern Samsung Smart TV stands far behind.
Here I've read so many negative comments. You have to know what you want, expect and buys natural. Whoever complained here that the sound is bass-heavy and not clear enough, and music not so "brilliant" sound has definitely chosen the wrong and who would arrogate to himself to think what "good sound" in music, should reconsider its level of knowledge. For sound in detail you will not access a system that is primarily intended for multimedia use. Of course, the Edifier can problenlos and well also play music, but of course it is not a Yamaha or Bang & Olufsen level and the quality of the source should agree. A dinky YouTube Rip also makes a high-end system is not great!
For my part, there is only one "disadvantage" of this system namely a remote control or a power switch within reach. If you do not want a standby, you always have access behind the subwoofer. Otherwise, I would buy Edifier again and highly recommend it!
