So I ordered the part. 10 in 1 sounded good and it accepts commands from original remote controls. Color display is also OK.
The first impression was also overwhelmingly positive. The build quality is fine, instead of hard verbautem battery can be 3 AA batteries or rechargeable batteries used. The display is of sufficient sharpness and brightness, the keypad includes the vast majority of standard keys that are needed often.
The initial setup of the various devices is relatively simple to my mind. You can select pre-desired device types (TV, DVD player, receiver, etc.) and is then passed through the other settings. Each of the 10 units is symbolized on the display and can be selected with the button placed next to each. (No touchscreen - I find but not bad.) Also, you can rename each of the devices individually.
For specific functions, or simply what to whom on the right buttons there is no room, you can still put each device 36 additional functions on the display. (Up to 4 screens with 9 possible commands.)
Of course you can still fiddle one way or another hour, until you have the perfect configuration of each together. As already described, the commands the Easy Icon does not know, can be programmed and easily with an original remote control to either the default key or on the display keys. For this, the learning function of Easy Icon is selected, the button is selected, which is to get to the desired function and press the command on the original FB. The two FBs course must thereby lie opposite.
The 'hit rate' is for my previous experience at what felt like 90-95%. Sometimes you have to take a 2-up, so that the function is performed properly.
Sometimes the thing works not at all clever. The semiskilled volume control of my Yamaha receiver has not hammer out the Marmitek. The Universal-FB stores the Teach the duration of the key depression. So then I could either change the volume only in minimum increments or always the same number of points at once. For other devices, and other functions, but the problem did not occur.
The only way was then also delete the configuration of the Yamaha Easy Icon and start the search again. In a default configuration, the volume control worked properly but then, so I had to reprogram only several special functions again.
What is nice (but somehow I never put to good use), are 2 Favorites keys. So you can, for example, the various TV stations to display a symbol directly on the screen and select via display selection button. For all the important transmitter suitable logo in the Easy Icon stored. About ARD and ZDF, and all sorts of third parties to the niveaulosesten private stations almost everything is represented with original logo. (Incl. Many foreign channels.)
If it does not find a suitable logo, there are several generic icons for eg news or music channel. Unfortunately, the logo list is not up to date, so there are various logos of defunct stations. But then missing but newer. An update option is not to my knowledge.
Macros can also be programmed when TV, BluRay player and digital surround sound system "wake up" with a touch of a button and to switch directly to the desired mode.
The function, however, is of no interest to me, so I have not tested further.
Otherwise, the Easy Icon is absolutely top in daily use. My old touchscreen universal remote control I use almost not more. (Was a Auvisio SRC 3000. Not bad, but already quite outdated.)
Unlike a Vorrezensenten I think it's good that the display turns on with each key press. So you see the same extra features on the display. One would have to activate this by extra button, I would find that too cumbersome. In addition, always displays the currently enabled device on bottom of the screen. So you always know immediately whether a keystroke also served the desired device.
However, there are a few points that I personally find negative:
-The Keys are not illuminated.
-The "Play", "Stop", etc. buttons are arranged for me too far down. But is a matter of taste.
-The Display seems to be quite scratch sensitive. Although it is slightly recessed into the FB and I'm very careful with it, it has been moderately extremely fine scratches. In operation, however, they do not fall on.
- Actually, it is only a 9-in-1 remote control. The 10 unit must be an X10-house control device mandatory. Do not know who has such a thing. I did not, I do not need.
-the Individual devices (ie TV, stereo, etc.) can give an individual name only at the very beginning of the programming. To change the name later, you would have to delete the profile for it and start over.
Provided -No update the station logo or the existing device database
The positive summary:
-Good Processing
-In Broadly meaningful and easy to use
-Ample Bright and sharp display
Standard batteries can be used
-Long Battery life
-No Registration required from the manufacturer
-No PC for programming required
-Lernt Commands from original FB
Integrated -Extensive Device Database
Macros and programmable favorite (even if I do, as written above, do not use)
My conclusion: For 5 stars it is not enough because of a few negative Punke but solid 4 it all.
