An almost very good photo editing for "prosumer"

Overall, I am more than satisfied with the software because it is easy to install and runs on a reasonably modern computer (my PC is one and a half years old) under Win XP quickly and stably. Since I started working with PSPP X2, also passes that actually as a replacement for PSP X bought Corel PhotoImpact X3 increasingly used and will probably soon be deleted from my hard drive. In direct comparison to PSPP X2 clearly prefers anyway the short straw.

But now the program itself: The surface in graphite gray is a bit strange (you have Photoshop Elements yet not imitate anything, dear people of Corel), but can be switched fortunately also on the classic PSP color scheme.

The functions are almost all from the two previous versions X and XI known, but some things are improved and revised in detail and supplemented. Want for people who "just" their images via work a little (color, brightness, contrast, sharpness) there is an Express interface that lets can be achieved very quickly the basic functions. Ambitious photo-amateurs, the comprehensive functions for editing and for photomontages available.
I would like to highlight here three functions that really convinced me:
1. The so-called. Color Changer, which allows you to change the color while maintaining the texture of an object. So you can change a garment from yellow to red z. B., without the material structure is unrecognizable.
2. Very nice is also the HDR function, be composed with the pictures from an exposure series to an optimal result - High Dynamic Range photos just for beginners!

Overall, Corel has with PSPP X2 was a successful photo editing in absorbed. Prosumer range on offer. For professionals, the software is however not recommended, as the RAW import marred by serious shortcomings and also supports only a very small number of camera models. At the throne of Adobe Photoshop CS3 PSPP X2 can not shake so, but you should also not fair to expect in the face of a price difference of about 900 in favor of Corel product
