An excellent book still mixing the thriller and fantasy

John Connolly returns with a new installment of the adventures of detective Charlie Parker: not exactly at the first series of works such as "the powers of darkness" and "black angel" This new novel marks a return of more muscular hero that is launched from the start in tracking down the collector, this strange character both beneficial and evil.

Charlie Parker and his cohorts Louis and Angel trying at all costs to kill him because he killed their old friend Jackie Gardner. This hunt is a kind of story within the story, the character of the collector being a recurring element of Charlie Parker's adventures. The main body of the plot is revealed little by little, a homeless man named Jude, who has in the past made service menu Parker desperately to reconnect with his daughter, a drug addict who seems to have found a way out with a job to the very elderly of Maine. This young woman disappears, and Jude is unable to find it in spite of the investigations which lead him in the city of Prosperous.

Jude is determined to get to the bottom of things by asking for help from Parker unfortunately found hanged in a squalid cellar.
The situation begins to deeply trouble the Parker home that feels a debt to Judas, and decides to investigate both the disappearance of her daughter and the circumstances of his death. To get Parker went to Prosperous, seemingly a charming town.

Under a fairly smooth scenery Charlie Parker will finally discover if akin to a medieval cult, that of the green man, dAngleterre imported by settlers along the worrying church of the small town.
