An excellent book to start a vegetable garden square

This book proves to be an EXCELLENT resource for who wants to start a vegetable garden square ... as is my case.
What I found very useful:
- Creation of the square (the box) and the mixture used (not easy to find vermiculite in France ...)
- A precise description, plant, its period of sowing / planting, maintenance, its harvest.
What I missed:
- The drilling depth (should plant a carrot seed was 1 cm or 5 Evident probably warned a gardener, but for a novice like me ...?)
- A more specific focus on my region (Brittany). Obviously this is a book written by a resident of the United States ...
What I did not like:
- The author is much talk about him ...
Conclusion: this book is very rich experience of its author. I recommend it to ... anglohpones readers :-)

This is is a wonderful resource, result of years of experiments, to start a square foot garden.
What I found Useful:
- The detailed description to build the box, andf fill it with the proper mix (not so easy to find vermiculite in France ...)
- A precise description For Each plant, ict of seeding / planting,
What I missed:
- The depth of seeding (should I put a carot seed at 1 or 5 cm depth Obvious for a gardener, not as much for a beginner like me ...?)
- A specific focus on my area (Britany in France). Of course, Mel, the writer, is a US citizen ...
What I did not like:
- Mel Seems Megalo. He speaks too much about himself.
Conclusion: I use this book Almost daily, to help me progress and improve my gardening skills. Definitely a book to recommended square foot for the gardener.
