Thrilled by his discovery takes Mickey Rose and with the museum to show the Doctor to give them what he had found. Shortly after, the Doctor decides with Rose to get into the TARDIS and to travel back to ancient Rome to find out what is going on with the sculpture of Rose in coming.
Learn Arriving at Destination Rose and the Doctor Gracilis know who is looking everywhere for his missing son. Without further ado, to Rose and the Doctor Gracilis decide in his quest to help and come together with him to a fortune teller that seems to come from another century and the artist Ursus who was created by gracilis son a sculpture. Quick, the question arises what secret lies behind this ominous artist ...
My Opinion:
"The Stone Rose" by Jacqueline Rayner is the first Doctor Who novel I've read so far. Since I have learned already know the characters in the television series of the BBC much it easy for me in the story set mostly in ancient Rome, immersed.
Jacqueline Rayner not wasted a lot of time with explanations it starts with the same exciting events that have taken place in Rome 2,000 years ago. I especially like the idea that Mickey discovered in the 21st century a sculpture of his girlfriend Rose in the museum and thus only the journey of Rose and the Doctor is unleashed.
Arrived in Rome, it is also equally exciting for Rose and the Doctor will meet the gracilis and because they want to help him in the search for his son, they come across the artist Ursus who wanted to make of gracilis' son a Skultptur. So it wears well on that Ursus Rose would immortalize in stone. Not even the doctor suspects that Ursus not draws up a statue of Rose Rose but transformed itself into stone.
Now I really want to reveal anything more of the story, because otherwise all the tension is taken. But one thing I can tell you it will be quite exciting in ancient Rome ...
My Conclusion:
An exciting and accompanying story that leads Rose and the Doctor of old Rome!
