An extremely exciting historical thriller

The last book by this author, I read, "Inishowen", was already a complex and profound psychological thriller of exceptional quality. This time O'Connor a thriller of the highest class has succeeded again, but this time he has moved the setting to the 19th century of 21. The book is a very clever and entertaining montage of different people, from their perspective a kind of detective story is told. This turns in the broadest sense to Irish who emigrated during the Great Famine of Ireland to the United States. Main characters are a lord and his family, an American journalist and the captain of the emigrant ship and a very sinister fellow. The book is both a thriller, a true Page Turner, on the other hand, it tells a lot and in authentic form on the social conditions in the upper and lower layer of the United Kingdom of the 19th century. The facts also true descriptions of the states hit by the great misery Ireland go very close.
O'Connnor wrote a very exciting, entertaining and at the same time touching novel of great literary quality. Now I'm going to read his other books.
