This book is part of the ICONS collection of the publisher Taschen: small books (about 200 pages format 15 x 20 cm) on architecture and interior design for a city or a particular country. Warning: with the exception of a small 2-page introduction, the book contains only photographs. No text, except photo captions that are grouped at the end of chapters. This may confuse some readers, but I think the idea is not bad. Abandoned alone in the city, it is a guided tour which is out with his own impressions. If you then wish to explore the subject it will look for other works. The book has three parts: - EXTERIORS includes comprehensive pictures or detail taken through the twentieth century. - INTERIORS shows us some decorating apartments and lofts of New York City. - DETAILS us "remonstrate" close up and from another angle parts of the previous interiors. This chapter was a little disappointed because it does not bring anything from the previous, especially as most of the pictures in the book are already in double-page format and does not require expansion ...
In conclusion: an interesting book to leaf through from time to time, especially as part of a collection that is expanding with many cities and countries in the program ...
Practical details: the book is in English-French-German trilingual, paper and printing are of good quality, soft cover but tidy with matt and gloss lamination.
