An introverted masterpiece against the mass irrelevance

Tocotronic are constant at the highest musical level, and this proves also her latest release, "How do we want to live".
So self-contained, fully developed, to detail, gently and yet with force at the same time one has Tocotronic not heard. The band is currently on their truly creative and musical climax.
Everything is dyed in the wool Tocotronic songs, unmistakable. The lyrics are fantastic. Profound, metaphorically, some with subtle humor.
Musically dare Toco guys to step towards more sophisticated arrangements and more complex song structures almost a little psychedelic, without, however, losing a certain lightness. And again is Difficult, a direct comparison with previous albums, because "want How we live" like everyone else is unique in itself. Most likely it comes in the direction of "Schall & Wahn" (2010), or "surrender" (2007), where these are only rough estimates. For every taste there.
The first half of the new plant is rather rocky and catchy, the second half, however, is designed experimental. Attention should be drawn here especially "Exterminate", in my opinion one of the best songs the band has ever created.
Anyway, here the songs unfold with all its small details only after repeated listening, which is a real treat, thanks to the brilliant songwriting.
Ultimately, this is due to the recording technique. Recorded analog on a 4-track tape recorder, this retro technology had clearly heard on sound and songwriting. Some might describe the sound as "stale" but it is warm, analog sound has been deliberately used by the band. He is part of the whole.
With a total of 17 songs, this is really a mammoth work, considering the quality of the songs.

Tocotronic have forgotten nothing, not bow to the favor of the masses extraneous, but move to safe ground, stable and loyal to them himself. May be for many years to create such masterpieces ...
No more masterpieces? Nonsense!
