Mainly used to view the geometry of the interior of the skull and the geometry of the mandible. The cranial pits are properly represented (compared anatomical atlas). Some foramina are not drilled but remain visible. The skull opens and reveals the internal bone structures. This allows for example to see how the brain (not supplied) is disposed within the skull. The mandible may separate from the rest of the skull, teeth are removable 3 (incisor, canine and molar). The mentalis foramen are visible but not actually "drilled". I find this very useful model to "understand" the geometry of the head, especially since its price is very attractive.
