I have gained the Hauppauge HD PVR Gaming Edition to me recently and I must say that it definitely has the hardware to record gaming experience. However, something happened to me "curious" in the second start-up: I turned the power on, then oh my PS3 and then ... I put the USB cable into my PC. As it happened -> BOOM, Hauppauge HD PVR Flashes / smoked briefly and put it for a short time (until I changed the version) my circuit incapacitated.
So much for my first initial contact with the device. But now to my actual opinion Hauppauge HD PVR:
As I mentioned earlier, it is the instrument par excellence for Games recordings. I think just a pity that the case is processed very cheap and the equipment to be extremely easy and thus to "cheap" acts.
I would have liked to see more weight there, because it makes me feel: The cable could after connecting pull the device from the table.
The mitgeliefrte PS3 / Xbox / Wii cable is "ok". Nothing fancy, but it works perfectly. The software is also installed and also easy to understand quickly. The file sizes on average are also appropriate.
The quality of the recordings is Top. However, my last negative aspect is clearly the price. 157 or 147 (as it still "strange" way was just before the Christmas season here) is definitely too much in my opinion. 100 to a maximum of 120 would have to be genuine (but as I do, like many others, do not wait / no real alternative has, I have added myself).
So: Buy yourself the device if you want to take a picture for you from your Games experience.
PS: Everything works great if you want to take PS2 games via S-Video cable. And yes, after the aforementioned "boom" the device still worked properly and had no external or internal damages.
