The packaging is neat, with a window that opens. One has a good quality printing. It is turned by pressing the button on the back, this button is also used to check the battery charge by a short press in position "on". A small backlit display gives a visual of the load with sticks. To turn it off it is the same but you have to press button for about 3 seconds. It can be used immediately (Pre-loaded with 3 sticks of 5).
Very small (less than 10 cm high), it has a very soft rubbery feel. The light is very soft and reassuring, my loulou kept her against her head unhindered to fall asleep. It is based on a weighted base and rounded. It can therefore nodding when given a flick. It's fun in the dark.
Obviously, and this is its main asset, it lights alone when light falls. It contains a light sensor and runs on a battery that appears powerful (200 hours autonomy announced, to see over time), coupled with an LED. All this may explain the slightly higher price. It recharges via a USB port. No wires, then! Quite nomad: I think it would be helpful in the car or on holiday in tents, etc.
