Unlike other rave reviews, I'd make some big caveats ...
I said that this is the first mini-USB hub I buy, so I do not criticize this trademark and manufacturer
particular, but I make a report of my experience.
Also note that my mini-hub is not faulty, I use under normal conditions, its cable
power and its own USB cable are not damaged, its power supply is stable, and I only use 2 or 3
same time slots.
> If I plug my antenna wifi on, my internet connection skips, something that never happens otherwise.
> One of my USB key is now unusable (all file names are replaced by strange characters,
and successive formatting change nothing), while it worked well connected directly to the PC (I was
even came to believe that finally in 2011 USB sticks had become a reliable, poor me ...)
> If I transfer important data between my PC and my external hard drives (self-powered, I said), it is
no way I go through this mini-hub, I plug directly into the tower. Especially for large files, small
you have less chance of being corrupt. And forget the cut / paste, copy / paste is better!
> By cons for other devices + "basic", as a joypad or a wireless keyboard receiver, I have no
problems here.
Conclusion: I am using this mini-hub for light devices and USB sticks, but ONLY for
manipulating small files, and data unimportant.
July 2011 Update of the comment:
> My comments above are still valid, I just add that to my webcam 1080p
I do not plug this hub because it crashes immediately. I need to branch directly to a PC USB hub.
October 2014:
Note about people who note the comments as "useless" (Amazon rating):
(General remark which applies to all the comments of all product types)
Hypothesis 1) You think that the author of the commentary is (an) incompetent (e) does not control the product and / or associated technology. Know that this is not always the case. Some commentators, by their profession, their experience and area of expertise, believe they have sufficient legitimacy to objectively criticize a product. In this case the hub, how to explain that connected périphériphe above malfunctions, while directly connected to the same USB port (even when it was connected to the hub), there are no more problems?
Hypothesis 2) Like millions of Internet users, you can not stand that someone else does not like what you like. If someone sends a negative objective criticism on an object / book / movie you like, you click on 'comment useless' to take revenge / avenge the product. It's not a very constructive way to defend what you like.
Hypothesis 3) You work for the manufacturer of the product, you have equity in the box, you are the cousin of film director etc. In short, you defend your beefsteak, normal.
Assumption 4) The author of the negative review fell on a defective product, and derives its staff if an overall judgment. It's possible, but from the time when other similar notices to hers appear, it is reasonable to assume that there was some truth in what he says.
In short all that to say that if the hub works well for you, fine, write your own review positive goal, but leave at least others the right not to be with you (not to mention Voltaire ...) and do not underestimate their intelligence.
