This is the 4th smoke detectors of this kind I ordered. He came on and reports the battery empty. All other run partly already 1 year long.
Update: 01/02/2015: The others have reported empty after about 1-2 years all battery. Since you can not change the battery - into the garbage!
Oh yes - I had a false alarm.
