The IP Camera is designed for indoor areas in the UK and relatively dunkelen rooms not so bad and not so deficient as with other IP cameras in this price range. Certainly would infrared LED and automatic night vision mode lift this unit at this price / performance class in the tip region. In complete darkness outdoors (eg balcony / terrace) and a night illumination which breaks down very M360. Here are other IP Cameras clearly sensitive to light. So if through a window (or weather-protected box) wants to use the M360 in the dark, should provide sufficient light (eg motion with radiator / IR-LEDs). In daylight, the picture quality, however, is very good.
The control (PTZ) is not 'point exactly' (fine enough) and takes place unfortunately only in relatively large steps. Nevertheless, this feature is a highlight. The motor to control is already at level 3 (out of 5 = slowly) very, very quiet.
The Video and audio transmission are very good at 640x480: fairly liquid and clear. But should not be too large claims on a larger distance.
The ActiveX control that unfortunately only works on 32-bit Internet Explorer hangs from time to time by prolonged live broadcast on, claiming that too many people currently access the M360 (not true: only one person - namely I). Other settings could be realized only after rebooting the IP Camera.
Motion detection:
Yes, it works, but ... There can be three areas regardless of the range and sensitivity adjust but the IP Camera features significantly delayed when movement already took place (so that the first movements are not stored). A so-called cache does not know the IP Camera and also only a maximum of 5 seconds (AVI / MPEG4) are recorded and on FTP server or SD card (SDHC) stored. In my opinion, is the brief record of only 5 sec. A small 'minus'. The data transfer in motion detection to a predefined FTP server and / or SD card (SDHC) and / or by sending emails is working properly! If (videos) the JPEG option (images) chosen to be stored in movement / sent instead AVI, so you will be disappointed: the images are for the most part highly blurred or blurry. The videos in the MPEG4 format are saved despite built-in microphone without sound. For whatever reason...
Network:
The establishment of the network turned out to be pretty easy. First configurations must be made via a network cable. If the connection to the wireless router (eg TP-Link TL-WR841ND) are manufactured exclusively by radio via WPS, so only (HAMA M360 here) must be sought in the router to the device PIN of the IP Camera. During the search, (max. 2 min.) Must back the WPS button being pressed and already there is a connection permanently (even after restarting both devices, there are the two back) on the HAMA M360.
The power cable is a bit too short in my opinion and would have liked to have been a bit longer because the IP Camera may be installed on a shelf or in a high position - without that an extension cord is required.
It is very unfortunate that a live image only via the Internet Explorer (32-bit) is possible. To complain about is the maximum recording time of just 5 seconds.
Furthermore, the Hama M360 shows weaknesses at dusk and in the dark in weaker lighting conditions.
Desirable timed settings, for example would be that from 22:00 clock predefined profiles (adapted brightness, areas, etc.) are automatically changed or used. Here, the manufacturer of the firmware is required.
Conclusion: the price / performance ratio a good network camera in daylight, with some minus points, inter alia, in use in the dark. As a pure surveillance camera (day and night) due to the faintness, videos without sound, video recording with a belated and vague alarm pictures (MOTION JPEG image mode) is not highly recommended. Who makes when it is dark enough lighting and also in motion detection with the PC (go1984) records, can look forward to this device.
