Delivery & workmanship:

In addition to the device itself contains an AC adapter, a "German-speaking" guide and a car charging adapter in the carton packing.
The charger itself is well made. He is very solid on its 4 rubber feet. The mechanics of the slide in the battery bays convinces, everything runs smoothly and cleanly. All gaps of the plastic housing are low and evenly, all edges processed perfectly and expertly.
However, I have noticed more scratches on the plastic display immediately after the removal of the screen protector. Due to uneven drop shadow, I too noticed that the film with the backlight by hanging on the sides.
The AC adapter does a routine processed impression that it is a default instance, which is a little more generous dimensions with 2.5A Output, as usual in such chargers usual.
Features and technical specifications:
******************************
The King SolarCharger 4H LCD A has a hitherto unique combination of features and specifications. An even remotely comparable device is me right now, despite intensive research, unknown.
The King Solar Charger is a charger with 4 completely independent charging slots that are actually used without any restrictions with regard to length and width. 4 pieces 26650er batteries to be charged simultaneously? Just bring it on, no problem for this device! Even older 18650 batteries available with extra length? No problem. The King SolarCharger swallows batteries to 72 mm in length!
The 4 charging bays are actually totally independently usable. Each of 4 simultaneously inserted batteries can be treated individually. Charging or discharging, different charging and discharging (charging currents: 0.25 / 0.5 / 1.0 A), Li-Ion, NiMH or LiFePo4, no problem!
The positive surprise: Although the case looks as if a fan would be installed, fortunately the King Solar Charger comes with no fan therefore. But who should now start from a silent operation, has unfortunately too early happy! The manufacturer has its device namely an infernally loud beeper donated. First, it is an ever by Mark and dimed if you connect the device to the power. This is acknowledged by a piercing whistle in smoke detector volume.
User interface:
*************
Operation of the King Solar Chargers is quite simple. A battery is inserted and the connection you have at the shaft manually set within 8 seconds by briefly pressing the respective switch the charging current to the desired height. A long press on the respective switches of the shaft changes between loading and unloading. The front panel display shows then accordingly CHG or CAP.
The display is very informative. Pro slot you will be informed at the same time on the following:
- Battery voltage precisely to two decimal places
- Loading / unloading
- Charge / discharge
- Recognized or manually set Battery Chemistry
- Charged or discharged capacity.
- Animated charge / discharge indicator
So great, the display may come off in pictures, unfortunately it has its pitfalls. The LCD display is extremly viewing angle dependent. That is, with direct top view is virtually nothing to see on the display. Only when viewed at an angle from the bottom of the display you can see something. And now comes the next problem: From the middle of 40 the minimum focus distance for the human eye changes. At this stage I am, unfortunately, just. The ads for the charging current and the battery chemistry are so small that I have extreme difficulty of being able to still recognize somehow.
When a battery is fully loaded or unloaded, the beeper does again attracted attention by a triple smoke alarm signal is sent to the user. And the mind of each individual battery! Since that has annoyed me such, I have resorted to self-help and screwed the device and gives me access to the board. The resistor R43, directly at Pieper I pried with a small screwdriver (see uploaded). Immediately soothing tranquility reigns!
Loading & unloading:

I use the King SolarCharger primarily for charging my now numerous 18650 batteries, all with PCP and based on Panasonic cells, each with 3,400 mAh. I ask basically a 1A charging current and here the King Solar Charger does exactly what you expect from him. The batteries are charged quickly and reasonable, heating is only slightly noticeable.
When unloading capacities are shown that approximately coincides with the nominal capacity of the batteries. That is, a 18650 Panasonic battery with specified 3,400 mAh is tested by the King Solar Charger with 3,390 mAh. Although it would seem plausible once, I really can check not everything. For my modest claims good enough for me, which outputs the King Solar Charger. Ultimately, I am interested not necessarily the absolute values. I can certainly live with relative values. Very few chargers have a discharge function at all. So this is an important but not so nice additional feature for me.
Conclusion:
***
The King Solar Charger is a very good charger with a unique functionality. Nevertheless, he messes up in some disciplines and blew the title Dream-Charger ". The display is part revised. Such a viewing angle dependence is no longer appropriate. Other manufacturers build well-read displays in its charger. The infernal beeping is a disgrace for humans and animals and should make for a lot of returns offered. And finally should the capacitance measurements when called cost or real analysis purposes can meet.
Finally, a small request: You use the tuning button! So you contribute to a better orientation regarding usefulness of all reviews.
====== ====== Update May 2015
After 3 months I use values from the unit of 3 to 2 stars. While it loads very well, but annoying more and more with contact problems when inserting the batteries. Although I use only 18650 Li-ion batteries with protruding positive terminal, each a load operation for Puzzle. Each battery will be straightened out again and again to the charging contact is finally made. The manufacturer has assured me that a revised version of this charger will come on the market. I very much hope that the current criticisms are taken into account, then there is perhaps still somewhat entitled Dream Charger.
