The first Galaxy Nexus (Amazon warehouse deals) had a strong banding,
the second (Amazon, but with double seal (Samsung returns?)) an extreme reddish and light stripes, although not as strong,
the third (Amazon with a seal) a slight reddish tint on the right, but no stripes,
the fourth (Amazon with a seal) again strong banding,
the fifth (Amazon with a seal) finally light stripes and a strong reddish, approximately from the middle of the screen to the right always getting stronger.
At full brightness the display defects do not fall on - Be careful when comparing the brightly lit store! At low brightness and especially white (like surfing) and gray (as with various system apps) backgrounds shortcomings are most evident. A good app for testing the screen for me was "Screen Test".
I now have to keep the third GNexus, more back-and-forth email brings probably barely better displays. The tactics used by Samsung is therefore still risen - I keep a device that only has small defects in the heavily advertised "SUPER-DISPLAY". Hurrah.
Otherwise, the device is of course absolute top class and the best phone that I have ever had - a huge improvement for the HTC Desire. But for that there's already enough reviews here. More stars are in quality assurance but not in it.
// EDIT: After many months, I am still very happy with my smartphone and also the display has not deteriorated. The initial anger is gone and so I raise to 5 stars, at least for my model. Maybe Samsung has production by now better under control?
