Backlighting: unlike the reviews I have read, it is far from discreet. You constantly under the eyes blue neon well, not flexible (only be deactivated via a button on / off). So yes it is effective to identify the keys in the dark. But where the rub is that the key layout is completely arbitrary: (. Arrows, Ctrl, Alt, Del) the shape and position of some essential keys is not standard at all. A real nightmare for the first time spent on this keyboard, as long as you type without looking at the keys (which is still far from being an exception these days). In particular, it gives me a real challenge to find the Ctrl key without removing his hands from my keyboard, find the key and resume my work (word processing or game). Most often I type next. it quickly becomes irritating.
To summarize: cheap keyboard from all points of view. It will cost you half the price of an average backlit keyboard range (for example, the excellent Logitech Illuminated Keyboard), but its build quality and design is in keeping: mediocre. It has the advantage of being light and small, compact.
Final note: no volume control on the keyboard !! Gap totally unacceptable nowadays.
