So to be honest it's been awhile that I was expecting a helmet of this type, which is both as transportable as headphones and which is equipped with the active noise reduction system, being a music lover more demanding on the quality of sound coming out of my material I'm pretty happy that it comes from Bose and not some sponsored brands David Guetta or Dr. Dre.
So I would not stay on all the technical details, which were not fully exposed previous reviewers. The idea of the system is simple and is the basis of all the helmets active noise reduction (good) external sounds are captured at the helmet sent to the box and then deleted in the ear by the same sounds in phase opposition returned by the system in the housing. The practice is much less because you have to take into account the spatiality of sound and avoid introducing additional noise into the audio system. Anyway ... That's why it's expensive.
I would simply make a few remarks.
If the system is very efficient, be aware there is less with the treble. So for example, when a car passes right next to you, you continue to hear the high frequency components of the engine noise.
If people speak next to you usually you will hear a woman still less a man.
That said, even if we still hear certain sounds (especially treble), they are still greatly reduced.
So in the Paris Metro at peak times, so you will continue to hear your neighbors talking -very Fort on the phone, the sound of squealing wheels on the rails etc .... But this extremely attenuated version. This has also been the occasion for me to notice how the noise causes stress in transport. Since I use this headset I'm much less stressed, even after turning for an hour in the Parisian public transport. It is probably the reason why other transport large cities of France are less stressful and even at peak times they are also overloaded in Paris: being modern they are quieter.
Finally I share my desk at work, and this helmet isolate myself completely, to the point that when my co-office challenge me I do not hear it. Result I am more focused and therefore more effective.
Finally I will make one final point, living in a very noisy apartment, in a very noisy building in a more noisy area, this headset allows me to do again nights over three hours avoiding me to hear my upstairs neighbor yell three o'clock in the morning because it was done in Battlefield desoldering, or the charming passing completely drunk who comes screaming desperation to finish what -still- single night at my window types noise than conventional earplugs were completely unable to manage.
Oh and finally I took the version for Android with an Android phone and all the buttons work.
Level music, nothing to say is Bose, I already had IE2 headphones for just over two years, and I was very satisfied.
The quality thereof is also good, balanced sounds, no deformations in its low as is the case for most other brands. A very good accuracy. We hear the pick on the strings, the hammer lifted the piano, short, impressive. Nevertheless we note that the activation of the anti-noise system tends to take music to the treble, nothing major, and I corrected a bit due to the equalizer, but I point out all the same. In the end it is very good. But this is Bose and considering the price it is the minimum that can be expected.
One downside, the battery, what life? Because honestly if I am very happy with these headphones, and in general I am always ready to eat pasta for six months if it allows me to improve my musical and sound environment, I simply do not have the means to buy it kind of small toys every two-three on the pretext that planned obsolescence is essential to the functioning of our economy.
