I must first state that I had previously acquired 2 devolo 500 AV over who proved defective with constant dropouts: back to the store.
So I was eager to test the model 550 + duo, especially as I wanted to remove access Wifi in the house. I must say that installation is very simple and completely effective: no stall speed fast Internet access. My box is on the ground floor and my PC upstairs, the circuit was recognized immediately, without adding external software like the AV 500 more. So just:
- Connect a PLC into a power outlet near the box,
- Connect the power plug from the box on the CPL
- Connect the Ethernet connection between the PLC and the box
- Do the same on the PC
As stated on the box, "that's it".
The other advantage is the presence of 2 Ethernet access on each PLC which can connect eg a PC and a media receiver (I have not tested with a game console).
Finally, the manual is more astute since it is composed only of small photos on how "good" or "bad." This is perfectly understandable.
