It involves the entire first island with somewhat smaller hexagons as in normal Catan; Tokens are also made of cardboard as a platelet (printed with image of plastic figures) represented and correspondingly reduced to fit on the keineren places for laying.
The landscapes are already equipped with numbers and for more variation on hand and foot printed differently. This is not to loud individual hexagons, but in aid to each a 4-group with frame portion on one side of which a total of 3 parts, and between individual landscaping hexagons. So it's not quite as versatile as the original, but by front and rear sides close. (Who is quite blatantly on it, but sharp tools provided could safely cut, the hexagons from the frame. But then comes the higher pitch stability is lost, which is nice just on the go.)
The cardboard pieces have the usual quality and thickness.
In addition, the 2 wooden cubes, a tiltable Pappräuber included (plugged together of 2 parts) and the complete set of maps of the raw materials and development of maps as a small version of the construction cost tables.
The set is so for 5 to recommend even if you want to buy more, only the card deck. (These are not smaller than usual). I myself am still players in the first timber variant, and therefore do not know whether the card design of the 2nd or 3rd variant of the game or a new variant corresponds.
The outer carton is smaller than the normal Kosmos-box, but still very large for the compact parts. But it fit completely all the parts in a DinA5 bag and the game is therefore great for a dip in the park suitable, especially through the frame with the 4-contiguous landscapes that the island gives more stability than pure individual hexagons. So it is on level ground on a blanket interpretable, or on a pad. If something is lost, it is not so tragic, as the expensive original game.
And there's even a 2-player guide. But there are pawns for 4 players included.
Value for money is great. I'll still give away to newcomers. For addictive it safe enough.
Would be nice if it plus extensions, additional player colors etc, would be to buy a cheap Papptableaus ;-)
