I am many years a very big fan of Christian Lais and the anticipation of the new solo album from him was huge. The wait was well worth it. I think that this is his best album, vocally and lyrically. Christian Lais has dared to venture with the help of his really great team (David Brandes, Bernd Meinunger, Udo Brinkmann and Heike Fransecky) of very different songs. He sings songs that are written by life, situations that you yourself have already experienced and he dares to sing about subjects to which other artists do not dare address. "Life is like a lantern" and "Beyond the After" are songs that sing of the life before and after death. Lyrically they are encased terrific and with a beautiful melody. Class. However, "He who fights with me" is a song, as many have experienced. Again, the text is great and made the music for it really well. The ballads have a wonderful text and are not at all cheesy, but empathetic and really good geschrieben.Lieder, into which one can fall in love and I find that it is the most beautiful love songs ("Neugebor'n" and "when you laugh") are that I've heard in ages. However, "Sorry for that," and "strangers" are lyrically strong and we think even then the times back to where you once hurt a person and not "Sorry" said Lais hat.Christian manages all songs, they sing so that you get goosebumps. He always finds the right tone for the right song. None could so soulful singing these songs as he. And he has also vocally super managed the two songs "resistance" and "too close to clearly see" rock and pop singing. My conclusion about this: Who does not have this album, has missed something very beautiful and unique. This album is a must to own it. I find "Neugebor'n" grandiose and unique. If you've heard this album again, it runs only loop and you will be addicted to it.
